Dorothy Mae (Rexrode) Dovel

Dorothy Mae Dovel, 91, of Stanley, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

She was born on October 23, 1932, in Shenandoah and was a daughter of the late Preston Rexrode and Carrie Housden Rexrode.

Dorothy retired as a clerk from Potomac Edison, with 32 years of service. She was a member of the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren in Stanley.

On November 25, 1956, Dorothy married Earl W. Dovel, who survives.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia M. Housden; and two brothers, Roy P. Rexrode and George Rexrode.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 1, at the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren by Pastor Tracy Shifflett. Burial will be in the Leake’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, at the church.
